A huge thank you to Dr. Plakas for volunteering his time covering Rumson-Fair Haven Youth Football home games to address any injuries that may occue.  We truly appreciate his support and commitment to our program.

Christos Plakas, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, fellowship trained in pediatric orthopedic surgery with offices in Little Silver, NJ and Forked River, NJ. He is affiliated with Monmouth Medical Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, CentraState Medical Center, Community Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus.

The 2019 season is Dr. Plakas’ fourth year volunteering as the team physician with Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs AYF Football and Cheer. He is also a proud sponsor of Little Silver Warriors Lacrosse. He attends all home games and is available to evaluate and treat any child who suffers an injury. He is available 7 days a week, including after hours to treat any off the field injuries or orthopedic issues your child may have.

Dr. Plakas provides comprehensive pediatric orthopedic care from birth to age 18. His areas of clinical expertise include trauma management, sprains and fractures, sports injuries, clubfeet, hip dysplasia, scoliosis, bone infections and congenital deformities.

Dr. Plakas received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his orthopedic residency program at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. Dr. Plakas completed his fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, NY, ranked by U.S. News as a Best Children’s Hospital for Orthopedics in 2017. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, as well as the New Jersey Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics.
